My background in academia goes deep with over a decade as a teacher and student, pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in philosophy.
I’ve always been fascinated by the big ideas and visions of philosophy, and I focused on the subject throughout my education. I graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in 2001; from Boston College with a M.A. in 2010; and I began the doctoral program in philosophy at Loyola University Chicago in the fall 2010.
After completing coursework requirements in Chicago, the urge to explore life outside the university took me on a different path. I left the PhD program for new challenges. I’m proud of what I accomplished while a student, teacher, and mentor. The lessons, skills, and experiences accumulated during that period are still a big part of who I am as person today.
You can browse through some of my Teaching credentials in Higher Education and K-12. While teaching Middle School, I was involved in Coaching in the sports of cross-country running, basketball, and baseball. And I dipped deeper into extra-curriculars, building on my Debate experience at Loyola University Chicago to build debate programs at Eaglebrook School and Meridian Academy.
You can also browse my extensive Presentations experience. I sought out many opportunities to share my academic work with others while a student. More than the average student. In retrospect, I think this was because I enjoyed exploring ideas with living, breathing people more than the hermetic life of a career academic might usually allow.
