Teaching

With over a decade of experience in the classroom, teaching many subjects to a variety of grade levels, I have come to think of myself more than an instructor of a particular content area.

I am an educator.

That being said, my areas of teaching focus are literature, history, and philosophy. I’ve taught courses in these subject areas to students of all ages, from sixth-graders to 60-year olds. Most recently, I have been teaching students in grades 6-9.

My teaching philosophy is community-based and collaborative, seeking to help students understand and appreciate that their individual curiosity and academic journey fits into a larger picture of ethical concern and collective responsibility.
