A writer, editor, and copyeditor with a vision for producing thought-provoking content.
I’m a storyteller across platforms, threading through digital and physical spaces.

Writer
My professional writing experience runs the gamut. From generating original investigative reporting to penning purely promotional copy. From enticing general interest readership to deep dives for specialized scholarly audiences. From online to physical editions.
I mostly write about arts & culture, but I have enthusiastically greeted opportunities to write on topics in politics, labor, sports, film, and dining when they present themselves.

I write a weekly music column at Cambridge Day, highlighting the Camberville music scene.
Here’s a cover story about the Cambridge Day Record Store walk, a community event celebrating commerce and creativity in Cambridge and Somerville.
The event was organized in collaboration with Cambridge Day, Hump Nights, and local record shops and artists.
I’ve written promotional copy for event marketing at Regent Theatre and braned building campaigns at the Phenomenology Research Group (Loyola University) and QRO Magazine. Additionally, I’ve freelanced as a music journalist with credits at local, national, and international outlets such as Boston Compass, The Big Takeover, and DrownedInSound.
Editor
I’ve held the role of editor in different capacities throughout my career.
I’m the founder and Editor-In-Chief at Hump Day News, a Boston-based news site that specializes in regional music coverage. I set the editorial vision, identify the storylines, and allocate the resources to tell them in writing, in photos, in videos, and podcasts across all our platforms. I’ve implemented a coverage model that prioritizes live performance. Nobody covers more live music in local venues than the small team at Hump Day News.

I am also the current Premieres Editor at The Big Takeover. The NYC-based online and print magazine started as a zine in the 1980s and is a nationally-distributed and respected voice in highlighting underground and alternative music. I leverage a network of industry contacts to curate an exciting mix of exclusive premieres each week that aligns with the editorial vision. I copyedit, format, and publish the pieces on the house CMS (Textpattern). In addition to publishing premieres, I have been updating the premieres template with frontend coding solutions in HTML and CSS.
Previously, I served as the Managing Editor at ASAGE (American Society for Graduate Aesthetics E-journal), formerly a biannual online academic journal. In my two-year term, I was responsible for overseeing the entire pipeline from start to finish, establishing the editorial focus, soliciting submissions, recruiting and setting up payroll for staff, liaising with the ASA Advisory Board to protect funding, designing the look and layout of the journal, and maintaining the necessary software and hardware to publish the quarterly academic journal.

Copyeditor
I’ve done the yeoman’s work of copyediting throughout my career, whether as part of my role as editor or as a standalone freelance gig. I show attention to detail, collaborate with editors and writers well, and have demonstrated the flexibility to use popular style guides like CMOS, APA, and MLA, or adjust to in-house style sheets as needed.
Publications
I highlight below a few of my published pieces, including selections from popular and academic press.
